I want to create an app that will allow western employees to connect using their mobile phone to colleagues in Korea bypassing expensive roaming charges.
What is the best way to do this? Can we set up an access number? Is there a simpler solution?
Here is a scenario to consider and solve the problem therein.
The western visitor, an engineer working in the field on a temporary contract, needs to contact his colleague who is based in Korea. The westerner has a UK mobile and the Korean has a local Korean mobile phone. If they use their phones in the traditional way, the westerner calls his counterpart and gets charged exorbitant mobile roaming rates.
What is the best way to avoid this without purchasing a local handset or sim?
In other words, can the two connect using their normal handsets without roaming charges?
Can the two connect via an access number or callback system and can this be simplified into an app?
If so, I wish to set this up for my team of engineers to facilitate ease of communication.
