I would like a native iPhone and Android app that will be interacting with the database from my Joomla 2.5 website. If the cost for both native apps exceed the slated project amount, then I would consider a web app, which would probably cost much less than the native apps. My website currently generates a random barcode that is on a coupon, when a customer buys a coupon deal for discounted goods. When a customer buys the coupon deal from the desktop website, the coupon would need to be imported into the app. If the deal is bought on the mobile device itself, I would need the API interface for paypal and/or credit card acceptance before the coupon is displayed. After purchase, the customer then takes the coupon into a store(either on paper, or mobile device) and buys their goods and the coupon would be scanned by another mobile device, held by the business owner, also using the mobile app. At that time, the coupon is to be marked as redeemed and update the database as such, so it cannot be used multiple times. I would also need some basic functionality to retrieve simple account things- like "history" of coupons purchased and/or used, maybe account balances etc. So this app would need to access the camera of the mobile device for the barcode scanning. Also I would like it to access the GPS of the device to search for "deals" within the proximity of where a customer is located. Some other features, not totally required, but would be nice if cost was decent... posting to facebook, twitter etc. about a deal a customer just purchased, or other posting events. Accessing the contact list of the mobile device, so a customer could share a deal through email or text message. All customer information: name, member ID#, purchases, barcode ID# etc. and the participating businesses information, like location address, deals offered etc. are stored in the mysql database of my Joomla website. The app would need to update transactions as necessary, as they happen, to keep in real time. I've never designed a mobile app, so I'm not sure what else is involved, but this is the basic functionality I need. I wasn't sure what price to put on the project either, but I am hoping it falls in this range. Please ask questions if you need clarification. Thank you!
