Children SMS Client application for kids in android 4.2.2

I'm looking to have an kids focused SMS Client application to be able to send and receive SMS. Requirements: - Built in android with java - Compiled for Target 17 - Can send and receive SMS - To fit a screen 240x240 LDPI. No need to cater for resizing as device is fixed. - Can't use ime keyboard, must have custom input on screen. - Needs to be build with mindset of being used by small children 6 to 11 years old. Application Flow: When application starts it is in `Read Sms` screen. Swipe left or right to see the conversations with the different contacts. Touch the edit message button at the top right to go into the edit message screen. When on the edit message screen touch the send button at the top right to send the message and go back to the read sms screen for the same contact. Details: On start the application reads all contacts from the device and produces a paged with 1 contact per page, you scroll left and right to view different contacts. On this read sms screen you have the contact image at the top left, the name of the contact in the middle and an edit button at the top right. The edit button takes the user to the 'Send SMS for this contact' screen. Immediately below this header section we see the SMS conversation as you would with any SMS application, being able do visually understand what message I received and what message I sent. Edit screen: When the user navigates to this screen we also see the header with the contact image and name with a submit button at the top right. Below the header we see the text input for the message. Below the text input we should have the input for english alphabet, numbers, space, comma, full stop and backspace. No additional simbols or options shoudl be provided. The 'keyboard' should always be visible and should be part of the screen. Don't use the internal android keyboard. Keeping in mind the size of the screen I would like to see something like a 3 line input that scrolls left to right to facilitate bigger keys.
