Background :
YouTube offers viewers to watch 360deg videos by
A. Having the video played on the full screen. The user can simply move his phone around in 360deg space and the view what the camera recorded in all 360 directions
B. Having the video played in VR mode
The user must simply place his/her phone in a vr headset and turn his head around to see in all 360deg.
Google has provided a tool called Google VR, which allows to do the same as YouTube on your respective servers. And can also display 360deg images.
This project deals with Google Vr capabilites in VR mode
What is required?
Image two users A and B. If A is using the VR headset and viewing a 360 deg image, B should be able to view exactly what A is viewing. B's view should be on a mobile screen.
Proposed solutions:
A. Screen mirroring seems to be the obvious fit. But its consumption of data and battery power makes it our last preference.
B. 360deg image loads on both phones of A and B. Let's say A's current view in 360deg space is (x, y). And these coordinated are sent to B. B's view should simply pan based on the (x, y) coordinates received. This way we should be able to see what A is viewing on B's phone with least data and battery consumption.
