MongoDB Optimization/Performance improvement required

We have a MongoDB databased hosted on mlab which is about 45gb. We need assistance on going over the db and providing recommendations and implementing fixes so our queries run faster. This probably includes better index creation and whatever other recommendations the freelancer will provide.

The main concern we are looking to fix is that our queries for the app take along time to product results, in some cases connection timeouts happen and we expect that you will be able to eliminate the bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
