Get TP Link Wireless Adapter working on windows 7 computer

Have consulted with 2 people who were unable to solve the problem. Appears is more difficult than I thought. My plan is to leave this up for a little bit more and if there is someone who can demonstrate the ability to solve the problem within 15 minutes, I will probably engage. My instinct now is that it might be more productive for me to engage a local window networking person. Will pay $25 to SOLVE the problem. Anticipating that it will not take long for someone knowledgeable about networking. Have a Samsung 2525 ML wireless laser printer and am using windows 7. Want the computer to connect wirelessly to the printer. (Know that printer is working because it connects to a laptop. This is a famously difficult to set up printer that I don't want to mess with, so please no suggestions about starting with printer. Want greyed out portion of TP Link adapter changed to an active connection.) Have an Asus RT AX55 router. Device Manager says the adapter is working but when I go to Open Network and sharing center the adapter is greyed out. (See pic attached). Previously, I had a different TP Link adapter that worked at first, but I did something with the computer or printer and I couldn't connect with it. Got a Tenda adapter and this different TP Link adapter hoping to solve problem by simply changing the adapter and all have exactly the same problem. I am hoping someone can solve it in a reasonable amount of time because I don't want to pay a large amount of money for this. One person tried to do this. He tried to upgrade the driver. That didn't work. (It was up to date). Also, he went to the change adapter setting in the Open Network and Sharing Center and enabled the adapter. It said it was enabled, but the adapter was still greyed out and still not working. So, other approaches have to be taken. Also, I have been away for a couple of days because of very complex problems that arose with authenticating Microsoft office after a new SSD hard drive was installed.
