Illumina was also named #1 smartest company in the world as part of MIT’s 2014 Technology Review.  As of August 2014, the company had a $24 billion market capitalization.  Basic Function And Scope Of The Position The Data Analysis Specialist FAS is an EMEA-wide overlay technical field support function for Illumina customers, local FAS, sales and marketing. Responsibility includes ensuring customer satisfaction, speed up time to implementation of Illumina products and applications, new installations, customer trainings, local FAS support and providing data analysis, logistical, and high level troubleshooting support. The primary goals are to ensure maximum utilization of Illumina systems to drive revenues and sustain customer retention in the clinical research market.  Tasks And Responsibilities To provide EMEA level application focused field support expertise for Illumina’s data analysis solutions such as MiSeq Reporter, BaseSpace Onsite and Cloud, VariantStudio etc etc Partner with local FAS and wider Illumina team in successfully onboarding new customers with Illumina products using Illumina data analysis productsPartner with clinical sales and marketing to ensure technical success and appropriate support plans are implemented for strategic projects such as early access, collaborations, etcProvide data analysis and bioinformatics technical expertise in the field to improve internal and external training outcomes, increase data analysis knowledge and expertise amongst the wider Illumina support teamProvide data analysis expertise to local FAS coordinating new installations, including facility inspections, instrument validation, and customer training. Provide data analysis expertise to local FAS, technical and product support troubleshooting issues related to users technical skills, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software and instruments. Assist the local FAS to drive and maintain positive relationships with customers in their assigned territoryMaintain and increase product usage, and supporting key account and strategic sales efforts through technical presentations and demonstrationsProvides strategic and competitive feedback to Marketing and product development teams, and independently leads or manages beta tests at customer sitesDeveloping and improving key company processes that support our mission of building a world-class customer support organization All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities. Preferred Educational Background PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Genetics required, OR M.S. + 3 years experience Essential Experiential Background Demonstrated experience of Next Generation Sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics in the clinical research market.  Preferred Experiential Background 3-5 years biotech experience preferred Must be willing to travel up to 50% Prior field experience supporting customers in a highly technical field required Experience using Microarray and Sequencing technologies preferredDemonstrated understanding of commonly-used Microarray Data Analysis software applications and/or Data Analysis tools and programs preferredDemonstrated experience with instrumentation such as liquid handling robotics and optical scanners preferredDemonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal and account management skills in a commercial environmentDemonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service-
