Re: Online Retail site - backend programmer required Hi, I'm a freelance creative designer with over sixteen year's experience in the design for print and more recently web. With regards design the latter I am experienced in UI creative, (Illustrator and Photoshop plus HTML & CSS hand coding). I have recently been approached by a potential client regarding the design and set up of an ecommerce site and although I have some experience in coding templates I don't have any in PHP, Mysql databases, SSL connections, online payment setup or advanced SEO. So I am looking for someone who does have the above technical experience who would be up for working with me on this project. I am meeting with the client next Monday morning to take a definitive brief from which I will create a costing plan estimate. This will entail my costs for the creative and graphic work and HTML and CSS templates, plus your costs for the backend work. After completion of the site and going forward the client will need to have control over the editing of text and image content so will need to be provided with access privileges to the control panel. Obviously since I will be subcontracting this work we (the subcontractor and I) will need to be in constant communication with regards the workflow status since it will be imperative that we hit the client's deadline. At is also important that we trust each other completely and develop a good working relationship. The client has informed me that she wants to get the site up and running by sometime in January. Then I will contact whoever I choose to contract the work out to by phone to discuss strategy it may also be worth meeting up at some point. I don't expect to see people’s fee's at the moment (although general ball-park figures might be good to start with) until I have created a written brief. I can then send that out to whoever expresses an interest in order for them to send me a costing structure for their work. On completion of the work, you will invoice me and I will pay you as soon as possible by whatever means you choose, bank transfer or cheque. You won’t be waiting any length of time for payment. I expect to get paid by my clients within a week of project completion and delivery of artwork and always do (in some cases sooner) so I would never make subcontractors wait for payment either. It may be possible to pay an advance for the backend work since I will be charging an advance but I will confirm this fact after meeting with the client on Monday. I am also unaware of the client’s budget yet but again I will obtain that information at the meeting.
