Brief Outline
[login to view URL] is an online style consultancy. We work on the basis that anyone can look good given the right advice and by making the most of what they have. We have a large portfolio of celebrity stylists to make the above possible.
How it works is by people subscribing to one of the 2 packages, uploading their photo, and filling out a questionnaire.
The clients profile then gets logged into a database, and sent onto 3 separate stylists specialising in hair, make up and fashion. The consultant then analyses the profile/photos writes a report based on what would suit that individual based on current trend and the objective of the client.
The information is then sent back to me where the info is all collated and compiled into a bespoke style directory for our client. The compiled information is then made into a handbag sized style diary and sent out to our client.
We also offer additional services such as life coaching, and nutrition and fitness courses which can all be purchased separately but endorse the belief that we need also to build our confidence and work on our self esteem to feel good about ourselves.

Website Design-
Suit-U is a service that offers style to its clients and takes away the confusion that fashion and seasonal trends can often bring. The design of the website has to reflect this and be stylish in its design showing knowledge of fashion, projecting individuality and style yet maintaining a certain simplicity for ease of understanding. I would like for the navigation system to be easy to use and the site easy to get around.
The website cant be like any other as we teach people to ‘celebrate their individuality’. I don’t want for the design to appeal to any particular age group as I am trying to appeal to a large majority so nothing bubble gum or too clinical. I should also express that this isn’t a magazine it’s a consultancy, and the professionals on my team are exactly that. They have worked with high profile people and are all extremely creative and stylish themselves. The design of the website needs to get across to the public that we are a professional service so although I don’t want the site to look corporate it needs to express the fact that we give a top level service to our customers.
I would like lots of creativity on this project as ultimately we are a creative service and so that needs to show as soon as people come onto the site. I would like for it to really capture people’s imagination and surprise them a little.
In terms of colour, I think that there has to be an element of pink as the majority of my users initially will be female although I don’t want for it to be overwhelming.
I can’t emphasise enough that the site has to OOZE STYLE!!
Development
In terms of the functionality, the most important thing would be for me to have my own content management system so that I can update the site myself, as it will have regular updates and will need constant changing.
Ideally I would also like for it to be able to automatically allocate profiles to consultants so that I don’t have to physically send the profiles on. I would like to know whom it has been sent to and have a record of when the profile has been completed and sent back to me. The reason for this is so that when I get very busy I can keep a track of my client/consultant workload. The key for me is organisation, and to make my life as simple as possible assuming that I will be inundated with clients.
I also need a shopping cart facility, as I will be recommending products for people to buy on the site, and a forum for my members. (a person becomes a member as soon as they purchase any one of the 2 main packages)
I should also point out that there are certain elements of the site that can only be used by members such as the forum, the competitions page, and the tips and tricks. Visitors can view certain parts but are unable to contribute to the forum or enter any of the competitions. I would also like for there to be little games that my users can play on the competitions page.
I need to have a database of all my clients with all their details on, and I also need all my consultants details logged so that I know who is working each week. The key here for me is organisation.
