SUBJECT: How to install Perl and PHP Scripts

USE: instruction document - ebook

AUDIENCE: General public - those with web sites utilizing

scripts

LENGTH: Around 30 pages

EXPERTISE: Must be familiar with installing scripts

DELIVERABLE: Microsoft word

ADDITIONAL INFO: I am looking for someone to write a detailed

document on how to install Perl and PHP scripts on to websites.

The details need to include:

1- Recommended tools (text editor, FTP program, HTML editor,

anything else you would use). Preference would be links to free

or low cost tools people can use. Describe how to use the tools.

2- Brief definitions of some of the terminology, such as PHP,

Perl, MySQL, ASCII, Binarl, CHMOD, Cron Job, .htaccess, etc.

3- Go through the steps reqired to install a Perl script, then a

PHP script. Suggest using actual common - and free - scripts

as examples. At least one that uses MySQL database. Detail

the steps so that a person with no experience will get the idea

how to install any script.

4- Limit the instructions to cpanel type control panels. Don't

bother with Telnet/SSH. Limit database instructions to MySQL

and server types to Unix.
