I need to have the database built for a movie rental arm of an existing movies website.
There is an existing shopping cart package (PHP &MySQL) which might be customisable by the right person. The shopping cart software can be found at <[login to view URL]>.
Solution must allow the following:
-Customers can browse titles available for rental via the website.
-Customer signs up as a subscriber of the site, giving details:
-Personal ??" Name, address, telephone, email (used for login), -password
-Package ??" Silver (3 movies per month), Gold (7 movies per month), Platinum (10 movies per month)
-Payment ??" Credit card to bill based on monthly package ordered
-Preference ??" Wish list of movies they would want to rent
-Admin get email confirmation of subscription and send out movie from the wish list. When returned, next movie on wish list is sent out.
-Customer can view/ modify:
-Personal details
-Rental package (view only)
-Payment details
-Movie preferences
-Movie rental history (a list of which titles they’ve had)
-Billing history
-Administrator can view/ modify:
-Customer details (all details)
-Customer status (active, overdue, debtor, closed etc)
Order information** (which titles are out with customers)
-System reports (top titles rented, lost/ damaged titles, stock control, bad credit customers, list of all individual movies and the current status of each one, new customers registered, monthly rentals.)
-Titles in database (adding and removing titles should be standard)
-Customer status emails
-Administrator will have ability to add/delete/edit movie information, categories, assign movies to categories, track statistics, set status for movies “not for children??
**Individual movies will have a unique stock code to be used to track rental and return progress of titles
