Theater Room Planner

Create a Web-based application that enables users to easily "drag and drop" home theater seats onto a room plan. The application may be similar to the “Room Builder?? found under “Elements?? at <[url removed, login to view]> for an example.

Please see the "[url removed, login to view]" file in the attachment for the proposed layout of the application. This drawing includes extensive notes on functionality and integration.

The project will require the manipulation of photos to create photographs for all of the theater seats. This is because the manufacturers do not provide images of all of their seats in all of the available colors. We will need this for the application.

The attachment also includes an MS Excel spreadsheet of the shapes that need to be created. Each seat will be available in various finishes (i.e. leather, microfiber) as well as colors. Each variation will need photo (thumbnail and large).

The attachment also provide, as a sample, information about the theater seat shapes that will need to be created. View the "[url removed, login to view]" file for details.

The ideal implementation would be tightly integrated with Netsuite ([[url removed, login to view]][1]), which is our ecommerce, CRM, inventory and accounting system. Netsuite is an Application Service Provider (ASP). We do not have any servers.

If data (i.e. price) cannot be pulled in real-time, then we will need a means of easily updated the application with data from Netsuite.

The application will also need to be able to drop SKUs into Netsuite's shopping cart when clients click "Buy Now." This as well as the update could be accomplished via XML. You will find Netsuite developer guides in the attachment. This should give you a better understanding of the job's complexity.

Bidders,

In an effort to better communicate the scope of the project as well as the integration requirements, I've updated the bid request description as well as the attachment.

In the updated attachment, you will find:

>an Excel spreadsheet with a fairly comprehensive list of shapes that will need to be created

>a sample document showing what the shapes dimensions will be

>developer guides for our accounting, ecommerce, inventory system ([url removed, login to view]).

I am open to suggestions in terms of development platforms (i.e. Flash, DHTML).

I also need to know if 30 days is a reasonable amount of time to complete the project.

If you haven't already done so, please submit your $$ bids.

Email me again if you would still like to communicate via a chat room to ask questions before submitting your bid.

To be unfront and honest, I am not likely to consider unrat ed coders or those who have not completed any jobs above $1000. If you fall into that category and believe you should still be considered, please state your case. I am open minded.

Thank you.

To help you better understand our integration requirements, I included Netsuite Developer guides in the updated attachment.

Netsuite's "Web Store Developers Kit" was accidently omitted. This document shows how Netsuite provides scripts for accessing Item Names, Prices, and so on from our system in real time.

It can be found at:

Bidders,

There is a wide range of bids for this job. I have $500 on the low end and $6700 on the high end.

I believe you all have a solid understanding of the graphic requirements. It is the integration with our accounting system that is the unknown ... and consequently the reason for huge variations in quotes.

I am meeting with a Netsuite expert on Thursday to discuss integration options. I will share with you the roadmap we develop. Once this is in place, I believe you should have a better understanding of the requirements.

I will broadcast an update on Friday afternoon. I hope you will review the information and modify your bids, if necessary.

Bidding will close next Monday at 5pm EST.

Regards,

C. Craze

Bidder,

Netsuite ([url removed, login to view]) is rolling out new products/services that may have a significant impact on how the Theater Planner is integrated into our inventory database.

The WSDK is not robust enough to achieve our objectives for creating a dynamic, database driven web site.

We are in talks with Netsuite to get additional information about their NetFlex and AppBuilder products.

Because these are new offerings, it has been a slow process.

Once we get the information, we will layout the data mapping.

I will broadcast an email once I receive that information.

Regards,

C. Craze
