Screen capture of part of webpage with Java (or anything else that will work!)

The goal is to have a button on a webpage (webpage is based in php/JQuery). When pushed it should screen capture of an area of the same webpage. The area captured should be the 'workspace' on the page. i want something similar to the 'save' feature on this website [login to view URL] (however this example solution doesn't work in IE, which i need it to). Can be done in anyway you choose too that will work with a php created page e.g. the screen capture functionality can be done in java Deliverables are (1) Simple example webpage that you make in php to show the solution working (2) The screen capture functionality (that runs from a button on the webpage) See attachment for specs I have a shared reseller php/MySQL hosting account you can work in if preferred.
