Interactive Classified Ad & Job Search Website Development

We are a start-up marketing and advertising company that specializes in helping small businesses put marketing and sales systems to work. Job description: We are looking for a professional and dedicated Web Site/Java Application Developer who can help us finish the development of an interactive classified ad / job search website and take our ideas to production. On top of having excellent site design (PHP, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and Java programming skills, the developer will need excellent written and communication skills, and be able to work closely with our project manager, designer and dba. Your responsibilities for this project will include: - Review business requirements working with team members - Perform a technical analysis of requirements and initial design. - Produce a solid, detailed technical design for the development of the application - Contribute ideas for making the application better and easier to use - Write clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements with little or no supervision - Work with team members to fix bugs with rapid turnaround. Web development project type: New Website Client side or server side development: Both Specific programming languages desired: Java, PHP, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Apache, Tomcat Desired website or component functionality: The web application will run on Apache Tomcat servers with a MySQL DB back-end. The DB that the application will run on has been designed and built. The application is intended to have a dashboard look and feel. The general look of the dashboard and the actions that can be performed have been designed and well documented down to the DB table/field interactions. The application will include the following features and functions: 1. User created ad copy with picture 2. Search feature focused on location specific attributes 3. Search relevance score/rank for other users' ads 4. Chat/Connect function for user-to-user communications 5. Chat/Connect should be able to leverage SMS and/or email based on user configuration 6. Rating system for users feedback 7. Business accounts can be multi-user and should leverage roles and access controls 8. Pay-per-click infrastructure for certain ad types and job postings 9. Space in dashboard dedicated to ad network content and banner ads Additional comments: Upon bid acceptance, the developer will be given access to the design documents and a development environment. By working with our team to track status and hit milestones, a fully functional application built to our specifications with well documented source code will signal the completion of this project.
