Word File Management Utility

1. Document File Management Utility (Word 97/2002 Add-In) (1) The purpose of the program is to create and UPDATE comprehensive lists of files. (2) Data relating to a set of files would be maintained in Word 97/2000 "table" form including relevant parameters such as "last modified" dates, user notes (supplied manually after the list is created), etc. (3) Each list document includes a search form at the top of the document to input search parameters (directory, subdirectory, file name template, date range). Upon opening, these files are automatically updated. (4) Further, a user can create/update lists (in ?table? form) of files with given specifications. (5) Below the search form (which should not take up more than 1/4 of the screen height) appears a list of files in table form. Each file name is a hyperlink that can be clicked to open the file. Other list fields include "last modified" dates, directory path, etc. as well as user-supplied commments (e.g. "Personal Notes on ABC Project"). (6) Individual list items can also be marked for re-presentation by entering a date in a "tickler" column. For example, with "May 1, 2003" in the tickler column, Word will automatically open to the relevant document whenever the application starts on or after May 1, 2003. (Ideally, tickler dates should be monitored constantly). (7) Tickler dates can be entered in the form "date +/- N". For example, "April 15, 2003 + 4" would present the document on April 19, 2003. (8) Whenever a file (meeting pre-set file specification) is saved, the file list is updated accordingly. 2. Deliverables (in addition to separate "Deliverables" section) (1) Program files macros, suitably annotated to explain function of each section and statement. (2) Sample files for testing, simple documentation (1-2 pages). (3) Simple documentation in electronic form (ca. 2 - 3 pages). (4) All copyright and other IP rights become the property of buyer. Programmer may re-use specific portions of code, but may not be involved in the creation of any similar or competing software. * * * * * ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code with reasonable annotations to allow own modification. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform Windows 95 and Windows 2000, Word 97 (MUST run on 97, should also run on Word 2002).
