ACE php/Sql guy needed: Code a contact / lists tool for within an intranet sys (think Outlook Contact mgr Lite)

The Task:

Build a contact / list manager w. Php/Sql. The typical user might have up to 5,000 contacts, but most are a few hundred.

First, a simple contact manager. Next, add group options, of which each contact could be a member of any of them. There are a few automatic groups such as Realtors, Lenders, CPA / Tax Professionals, past clients, appraisers, escrow & closers. These contacts are all local (e.g. owned by that account-login-person and their assistants; you don't need to deal w. any permissions stuff on this). I'd like some advice on how much time it would take to make "appraisers" global, with a "my favorites" that is local to the account or the company (which is a group of logins).

We already have a basic app with a very simple list-style design. The file upload tool we have is sufficient, provide it is modified- just add a better send tool that allows sending to be scheduled (cron ok or pixel-refresh; timing doesn't need to be super precise on this), and has checkboxes to send to multiple groups without duplicating to that email address.

Within the contact there needs to be a "check for match from closed or current files or new leads", .e.g. to see if there's more data about that person elsewhere in the app. if so, just link to it, that's it.

Some relevant pages for what we have now are included. index is purely FYI, the core of the system, and this link:

is a style guide-- the whole app is being remodeled to match that.

ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS will be answered by posting here so all can see.

for this project only people looking for longer-term work are being considered, so as to get deeper into the app.

Thanks! Roger

* * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Friday Jul 8, 2005 10:56:17 AM:

Thank you for your interest in working with us!

The price of $5000 was just a max bid - I can get a coder down the street to do this for way less than half of that, and my interest in taking this overseas is to save money. That said, I'm not stupid and know the process well...if you're serious about working together, I am truly a $30,000-a-year client - but demand a lot for my money, because I'm funding this _out_of_pocket_ competing against billion-dollar companies.

Sooo, please let me know a monthly expectation for FT work to start and of course we'll grow from there.

So if you're serious, please rebid or adjust your bid for consideration - I received a lot of responses.

>>> Answers to questions:

a. Passwords: I'm aware of the comments; the file posted is for the Dev environment (as opposed to production). Thank you for those who noticed it, but stuff li ke that obviously is cleared out before making live for our users.

b. >>>>>

what exactly do you understand by "global" and "local to the account or the company".

I can suppose global is seen by all users, and local only by the company that added him.

>>>>>>>>

Global means it is seen system-wide by any account type.

Local means either seen only by a specific account type (there are 5 types), or by accounts within a specific group.

Groups might be "companies", e.g. say there are 20 loan officers working for a company, with 1 owner and 1 manager and 1 payroll person and 3 processors. (This is a typical configuration).

Every individual obviously has their own login, but all of the above are grouped by company. the Blog, used for company news basically, is available only to people within that company.

There will be many companies using this, each with their own blog, their own documents, etc.

c. minor note from me...there should be ano ther automatic contact-group: coworkers.

d. The upload tool takes ONLY .txt or .htm with server-side images.

From here I'm going to have my Chief Technical Officer talk to the top three people via IM. Sorry I'm making this such a contest, but I intend to find one guy and then funnel most of the work to that person, who will need to work with CTO (Adam) and myself. He's WAAAAY busy because his company has been bought and now may be bought again by a huge G named company. So he'll sniff out the "men from the boys" ;)

Thanks so much for your interest!

## Platform

Php MySql for apache

this project like my other open project is basically a paid test, and if it works well can lead to FT-type work. To be honest I'm slightly biased toward Romanian coders as this has yielded the best results for the cost from what I've seen - but I'm open!

I'm also open to hourly / daily once we establish some trust, and if I get the app we're building you'll have plenty of options if you want to work in the US! :) I'm 30 - and aim to automate the US home loan industry.

The app is an intranet type pipeline management tool for the mortgage industry. near-term additional projects include a cobranded mortgage application, and sewing together some completed RAC parts such as a PDF compiler. Knowledge of PDFlib will help, but not required.
