Custom Wordpress Feature

I built a custom front-end form (it simply allows you to create categories) that works fine, but now I need to extend it a little.
I've set up a new custom post type called "Post Groups" (post_groups).
The post_groups are managed in the WordPress back-end are a simple parent/child hierarchy. For example...
Dogs
- Collie
- Pug
- Dalmatian
Cats
- Domestic
- Persian
- Ragdoll
...etc. Remember these are all really just posts.
On my front-end form I've now got a select field that shows the parent of each Post Group. Here's a pic: [login to view URL]
So here is the part you'd actually be adding to my existing work.
I'll explain what I need to happen by providing an example.
1) I enter "Animals" into the "Category name" field.
2) I choose "Dogs" from the "Include posts from this category group" field.
3) I click submit and 3 posts get created, respectively called...
"Collie", "Pug" and "Dalmatian".
...which are all in the "Animals" category (just in Posts is fine). So it would end up looking like this: [login to view URL]
I will be able to provide full admin access to an instance of Wordpress where this is currently set up. If required I can also do a Skype call if you feel further explanation is in order.

Quite an easy job. Not sure why you'd like to do that , however doing it it's not so difficult. Probably you need this to happen only in "post_groups" right?
