Project Description

We have a travel agency site and we need some fixes to be done

#1 - Optimize Cache Settings (currently disabled) (this will improve search.)

#2 - Optimize Connections Count Settings (currently 100 as I remember.) This will fix most 'database gone away' issues.

but more importantly is #3 - Restructure of tables indexing of packages tables, and rewriting search code. ( this will allow many more packages on the system and improved performance)

3.a. Currently there are not appropriate database indexes on the packages table, which has 100ks of packages and is badly optimized. This means for 1 search all 300k packages must be scanned. With proper index table, this will not happen. This also means that performance will decrease as more packages are added to the system.

3.b. by creating separate dates and origin/destination data to mysql tables and indexing this data independent of package table, this will increase performance so that whole package table is not searched. (for example to search 1 month packages only, all packages from all months must be forcefully scanned by mysql server, because of improper indexing.)
