Create a Joomla page that can be used as homepage with geolocation enabled.
The point is that geolocation should be enabled as soon as the user visits the site.
A module (maybe system plugin) seems most appropriate but i am open to suggestions how to do it technically.
Desired functionality is this:
- User visits the site and permission to use geolocation is asked immediately.
( unless the user previously already gave or denied permission )
- When permission IS given,
--- Alternatively to using geolocation allow the user to set a point on a map.
--- Alternatively to using geolocation allow the user to enter an address using google auto-complete address.
In all 3 cases the result should be a known starting point as lat/lng.
- When permission is NOT given,
use of one of the alternatives should become mandatory.
At least the user should receive a warning that the website operates most efficiently when a startpoint is set. Search functions based on location will not work if no point is set. ( Note: it may be better to always set s default start point, this will need to be determined experimentally. )
I am aware that you cannot switch geolocation on programatically after the user has switched it off. This will need to be handled by providing the user with info on how to switch it on in his specific browser, providing the used browser is geolocation capable.
At this point i am after functionality, visual appearence is less relevant, as long as it looks ok using the default template it is fine.
