Provide Fitment Data to Amazon
Part Finder uses the Aftermarket Catalog Enhanced Standard (ACES) format, an industry standard for the management and exchange of automotive catalog Fitment Data. To submit Fitment Data to Part Finder, you will need to provide your Fitment Data in the ACES format.
ACES Overview
ACES, the Aftermarket Catalog Enhanced Standard, was created several years ago by the Auto Care Association. This industry standard prescribes a machine-readable format in XML for exchanging electronic catalog information. ACES consists of fully normalized relational databases that describe every vehicle produced for sale in North America from 1896 to the present. The ACES databases contain, in addition to passenger car and light truck segments, medium duty, heavy duty, othermotive and powersports segments.
Below is a technical example of the ACES format to give you an overview of the XML schema. In this example, the supplier provides information about brake pads for a 2011 Chrysler 300:
Make Model Year Position Part Type Part Number Notes
Chrysler 300 2010 Front Brake Pads ABC-123 AWD: OE Pad Material is Ceramic
Once mapped to the ACES format, the same application will look like this:
<App action=”A” id=”1”>
<Years from=”2010” to=”2010”/>
<Make id=” 39”/>
<Model id=” 2489”/>
<DriveType id=” 6”/>
<Note>OE Pad Material is Ceramic</Note>
<Qty>1</Qty>
<PartType id=”1684”/>
<Position id=” 30”/>
<Part>ABC-123</Part>
</App>
The make, model, part description, drive type, and position have all been assigned the appropriate ACES codes, which will be translated by the ACES receiver (Amazon in this case), so that customers can use the Amazon Part Finder to know that this part fits a 2010 Chrysler 300.
Convert Fitment Data to ACES & Provide to Amazon
Use a Fitment Data provider. Certain providers can accept your Fitment Data in nearly any format, convert it into ACES format, and then transmit it directly to Amazon.
Use a self-service tool. Some Fitment Data providers license self-service tools that allow you to create ACES data one product at a time, and then transmit it directly to Amazon. The self-service tools are often less expensive but may be slower since they require manual input for each product.
Upload directly to Amazon. If you have Fitment Data that is already in ACES format, you can provide the information directly to Amazon via an XML feed by registering for a data provider account.
To register for a data provider account or to get more information about Fitment Data providers, please contact Seller Support with the following information:
Seller Name
Brand(s) you want to provide ACES data for
Your relationship to the Brand (brand owner, brand distributor, or brand retailer)
Approximate number of products for which you want to provide application data
Hello Jono, hope you're doing well. I have gone through your project details and I'm interested to work on this.
How many parts we'll be working on for this project? We'll finalize all the project terms after discussion!
Best regards,
Jubair
