I have read your project requirement and understood that your friend restaurant needs and desktop computer application. 1) Does he need bill module to print bill ? 2) Does he need to store customer details ? So in future they search customer by their phone number or name and can offer discount. 3) We can give reports on menu basis ,total earning , monthly earning , customer wise earning , item wise earnings. 4) we can install database on their database so all data will be stored in the local machine only. 5) I can also provide auto back up option for database. 6) We can also integrate email , if any customer wants bills in email.
