CHALLENGES OF IMPLEMENTING CLOUD NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE WITH EMPHASIS IN DEMONSTRATING CLOUD BASED SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE (IaaS)
Cloud computing is becoming very attractive, an area of research and practice in the last few years. As a result, some organisations have migrated while some are still considering migrating to cloud computing.
The idea behind cloud computing is mainly on how to reduce overhead cost (hardware, storage and networking devices), reduced risk of IT infrastructure failure, higher ROI, quick responses to changes in demand, rapid deployment, and for business continuity purposes in the event that the unforeseen happens.
Deployment of cloud computing is a challenge to most organisations in meeting their various day-to-day operational demands. The practical aspects concerning the design, installation and implementation are often overlooked and neglected. In the deployment of cloud computing, various aspects such as web based infrastructure customer-on-demand, security, privacy/confidentiality components as well as the economic aspects are often neglected. The potential impacts of these aspects are enormous and should not be taken for granted.
The primary focus of this research is to analyse the integration and challenges of deploying the cloud network infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for a school management systems. In particular, I will examine the theoretical/foundational basis of cloud computing and provide a guideline for deployment of cloud infrastructure. We shall demonstrate the concept using Educational Management application or using Student Records Processing application. Some of the identified challenges or knowledge gap includes:
Customer-on-demand web services issues
Ownership/Jurisdictional Issues and
It is expected that organizations looking at the possibilities for implementing cloud solutions would benefit from getting the basics, and a view on the different aspects of cloud computing in the final research document. Deployment of Public or Private Cloud computing is a challenge to most organisations in meeting their day-to-day various operational demands.
I expect the following, In Addition to the Research Report Write up:
1.) A Back End & Front End Server ( User facing UI & Admin UI
2.) A web Interface
3.) An AWS with Beanstalk as an option hosting deployment service which is mostly base on Linux, to manage the Application Server aspects of it.
