A custumer recurring billing system
Today we have a easy system that helps us to remember all the invoices to our clients at the right date, on the right interval and the right price. We send the invoices
”manually” to our clients, but the system tells me who to bill, when, and what. I add custumers in one database. Then I create ”products” connected to a custumer, I fill in product name, price, interval, start-date, category and comment. Today it’s build in .NET och some windows-thing. I want it build in PHP instead.
First I want to build the system like it’s today, just some small changes, and after that develop it further and add more funcions. We could build this system on some platform, Wordpress, or other, to gain some advantage.
Example: I add a product called [login to view URL] and it cost 200 SEK annualy. I add it 2016-08-01. Then the product till be visible in the ”INVOICE”-view. When I bill the client, I ”check off” the product. It will now be in ”Custumers > Active” until 2017-07-31. When the date hits 2017-08-01 the system sets this product to
”History” (for statistics) and duplicates the ”Product” to a new one, same info but the interval is now 2017-08-01 to 2018-07-31, and it brings this ”products” status to invoice, and thats how I know when and what to bill my custumer.
In the system we track costs for domains, mails, support-service, webhotel, etc. About 8-10 categorys total.
