optimizing WordPress website

Problem with site speed. Here is a recommendation I received from SiteGround that hosting my server: Thank you for the update, Gabi! I used the results in order to determine that some sort of a script on your website slows down the initial load. This can be seen using the GTMetrix performance results: [login to view URL] Clicking on the Waterfall section shows that the initial load of the website takes quite a long time to complete. From here I went to the WebPageTest and scanned the website: [login to view URL] The results confirm that some sort of a script is causing this behaviour as the server-side sections (marked as dns, connect, ssl) complete very fast. Whereas the HTML section (representing the application and its scripts) requires quite a lot of time. With that in mind I ran several strace checks on the website to see what happens during the loading process.
