The project seems fairly straightforward . I had a couple of questions, - Is this required to run on Windows, Mac or Unix ? - What is the format of the file that needs to be scanned. Sharing that information would be useful to estimate the time required to do the program. - How do you want the final report to be presented ? Console, Report like jasper, or email notification ? Hi I did a project just like this when I was working at Nortel Networks. That involved two customer data files, one for the previous version and the other the new one, they had to be compared to see if there were any missing, mismatched or extra data fields. It took me a week to do, so if this is similar it should take less than that, perhaps just one or two days. If you have examples of the files then I can give you a better estimate. I am new to freelancer so I need references. That's why I am willing to accept the minimum for this project. However I am a skilled programmer with a degree in Computer Science from Aston University.
