Hi, i have done similar software before for Freelancer.com employer. - All accessible drives are accessed and searched for specific files (based on file extension, but it can be something else like modification date etc.). Search doesn't take longer than 2-3 minutes on modern PCs. - A list of files is created during the search and once search is finished, files are uploaded to server via HTTP or FTP. HTTP is preferred because it doesn't trigger Windows firewall dialog, however HTTP upload can be restricted by file size, on server side (most of the time 64 megabytes). Each file can be packed into ZIP archive before upload to reduce it's size and upload time. Please tell me more about "windows panel where I can see all files", should it be client or server side? I would like to discuss this project on chat.

What or how files should be searched? by file name? by content? 2. how the files will be uploaded to server? via HTTP POST or FTP? if you need just a of uploaded files, then you can simply connect via ftp and view them. If you need some extra features, I'd need to write some kind of interface with php.
