Web Developer

Role Purpose The Web Developer will work with the Application development team to ensure that easy-to-use and intuitive user interfaces are incorporated into all phases of the proprietary self service betting terminal development.  This person will work directly with the business analysts and development team to translate business requirement in rich and engaging customer facing applications. Technical ability to translate graphical designs and project concepts into physical HTML5 SPA application (utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Angular) is vital to the success of this position.  Key Responsibilities Form part of the technical experts team for Sportium proprietary self-service betting terminal solution Helping the teams to troubleshoot issues with creative problem solving solutions Lead the delivery of design concept into function application code (CSS, HTML5, Javascript) Develop robust and maintainable code written according to modern web development paradigms Ensure that front-end code is highly optimized for maximum performance while retaining leading usability features Design and develop bespoke CMS-like functionalities Integrate with proprietary and  third parties APIs and web servicesKnowledge, Skills and Experience 2+ years of professional experience as a front-end developer with demonstrable experience. Very strong knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript/Angular/Backbone and CSS. (cutting edge HTML5/CSS3 experience on touch enabled devices preferred) Solid understanding of the principles behind user experience, web navigation, SEO, current design trends, cross-browser and platform compatibility issues. Working knowledge of responsive design and mobile development concepts desirable. Experience working with PHP/JSP or other server-side programming languages would be advantageous. Experience with JavaScript frameworks. Familiarity with Google Analytics, or similar technologies, for user tracking and reporting analysis would be advantageous. Excellent working experience of Agile software delivery within dynamic corporate environments. Experience of a range of development utilities such as Jenkins, Subversion, JIRA, Confluence, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, both technical and non-technical. Fluent in spoken and written in both English and Spanish highly advantageous Highly organized and a good muti-tasker Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize at short notice to meet immediate requirements without compromising long term objectives Flexible approach to working hours required with the business operating in a 24/7 environment and critical project deadlines
