There are 2 IMU (e.g. MPU6050 or, MPU9150 or MPU9250 etc.) which are connected to an Arduino trough I2C, we need a code to calculate Angles (x,y,z) between these 2 sensors. Assume that we want to rotate IMU1 to be in parallel with IMU2, we need a code to calculate how much we should rotate it in the x-axis, how much in y and how much in z to be completely parallel with the other one. We pay up to 150$ for it.

Hello, I am a professional emberded systems engineer who has experience in firmware development for more than eight years. Your requirements can be implemented using a rotation matrix. MPU6050 dosent has a inbuilt compass. In order to measure the rotation in z axis, we need to fix one. And also it does not has hardware filters. Need to develop a kalman filter to process raw data. I have made a code where I use accelerometer and gyroscope data to calculate the orientation with respect to the conventional roll ,pitch yaw angle. so the rest of the work will be making two coordiantes and finding the relationship between the two IMU coordinates.

Hi I know methods that are suitable for embedded systems or even FPGA that work without multiplications and I can design an algorithm to make what you want but. I can make the function that take the the x,y,z values and get what you want. I will do this I C and test in an arduino nano, but I don’t have the IMU chips.

Hello. I am expert in math, algebra, ... Please look at below: - IMU1/IMU2 has a place P1/P2. - I can calculate (arx, ary, arz): P1 -> rotx(arx) -> roty(ary) -> rotz(arz) => P2 - Rotations is in P1 coordinate. I can implement a function to calculate (arx, ary, arz) from position of IMU1/IMU2. Thanks.

Are you aware of gyroscope drift problem? The most serious obstacle for proper orientation extraction is significant drift of almost any IMU, mpu6050 typically has drift of 5 degrees per minute (when zero-point compensated, without compensation it can be as high as 1 degree per second). Also, it is impossible to determine rotation if we don't know position of two units relative to each other at some moment prior to our measurement (at some point they must be in known positions to further track current rotation). Overall, in some conditions it is simple, in some it is complicated, and in some it is impossible. Please describe your situation in more detail - when sensors are turned on? Is there some point when we know their relative orientation? How long we should be able to track them, with what precision?
