Data Analysis KA

This is a group project using WEKA/R (or any other relevant tools) to analyse a specific problem or issue with data that requires the use of some of the algorithms and techniques that were covered in the course. Your team will present their findings and defend their results. Note: As part of a cross module assessment, the presentation will be graded as part of the Communications Skills - Enhance Your Personal Impact module. Your paper should capture the following aspects that are relevant to your approach (this by the way, is also a guideline structure for a dissertation).  Abstract – executative summary of the paper, what did you do / find out, and (very briefly) how?  Introduction o Motivates the problem – which Kaggle problem are you addressing? o What are the raised challenges/implications or research question? o Evaluation criteria/requirements – how do/will you know that your solution is good/valid?  Background ( optional ) o Things essential for the reader to understand – e.g. methods used and a brief summary of what they do, how they work etc.  Related work o Summarise relevant (academic) works that guided your decisions  How do these works influence your approach / design etc.?  Does your approach differ from or extend these works? o Critical evaluation, i.e. go beyond a summary of the works:  what do they do well / poorly for you problem?  what do they not do?  You can use criteria/requirements raised in introduction to evaluate each paper  Methodology ( Design-like / Conceptual model / ... ) o Why does your approach address the selected Kaggle problem? o What scientific method are you applying? E.g. are you comparing different techniques, combining techniques etc. Why do you think this proposed approach will be best / work?  Implementation o No code! o How did you go about execting your methodology o Provide necessary details so that the reader can understand specific components/algorithms/interfaces etc. and what they do o It should be clear to the reader how you went about your study so that they could recreate it if they so wished
