Also, instead of "open source software", you can also search for "wordpress", "wordpress plugin", "wordpress developer" and so on. You should be able to find plenty of pages where these developers list their sponsors to say "thank you", and some that have "do follow" backlinks. Instead of "donations" you can also search for "inurl:donate", "inurl:sponsors", "inurl:contributors", "inurl:contributions" and so on. Once you find these sites, you need to confirm that you can make a donation to them via PayPal and specify what URL and anchor text you want them to put on the page. Please submit the list of URL's you find in an Excel sheet and I will check the URL's to make sure they fit the criteria above.
