Accessing empirical literature through the Abbey Library database is a necessary skill. Select one (1) study that was published in the past 10 years in one of the Psychology Journals (Assignment 2) and answer the following questions in narrative form. This is the essence of a Literature Review. This assignment must be completed according to APA, 7th ed. formatting with regard to title page, margins, type font, organization and sublevel headings, proper in-text citations and reference page. (everything in this paper will be paraphrased, so every paragraph should include at least one cite). Paper Title and General Introduction 1. Who are the researchers and why did they want to study this issue? 2. Was this research supported by a grant? If so, who funded the grant? Hypothesis and Methodology 3. What was the researcher’s hypothesis or thesis statement? 4. Identify the Dependent and Independent Variable(s). 5. Was a buffer or intervening variable identified? If so, what was it? 6. Describe the methodology that was used in this study. Was it a replication study? [do not merely quote the methodology; use your own words]. Include definitions of terms and variables, sampling, design, etc. Findings 7. In the results, were there any statistically significant findings? If so, what were they? Was the null hypothesis rejected or accepted? 8. Were the researchers surprised by their findings? 9. What were the researcher’s final conclusions? Policy Implications and Conclusion 10. Provide a summary paragraph of what you believe are appropriate policy implications for the study.
