Freelance Scientific Writer
min £36 GBP / hour
We are looking for a freelance scientific writer to assist our marketing team as well as scientific group to reach our customers and the scientific community with essential messages and data that enables development of advanced therapies and biopharmaceuticals.
The position is flexible in monthly hours with a minimum of 15 hours, however, will involve deadlines. Due to maternity leave in the marketing team during the summer increase in hours may be necessary. It will be possible, dependent of restrictions relating to the pandemic, to use Albumedix offices and facilities.
This will be the ideal job for you if you are looking to link science, communication and creativity in a fast-paced environment and growing organization. We are looking for someone who can assist us in a range of different content both in the writing of peer reviewed articles, based on data developed by our scientific team, as well as marketing material such as blogs, application notes and opinion pieces.
As we work with customers using our products and technologies in a variety of applications you will be introduced to a wide range of scientific topics which you will need to quickly absorb and communicate concisely. As we operate in a highly technical industry with complex subject matters and cutting-edge science, it is important that you are able to both write content which engages its audience in a clear and creative way that highlights the important and exciting messages as well as the high scientific standards involved in peer reviewed articles for established publications. Key responsibilities include:
• Content creation in the form of application notes, blog articles, feature articles, brochures, video scripts and the like.
• Literature research on defined topics as reference for content writing.
• Interview with internal and external subject matter experts to gather information for content writing.
• Use of own knowledge and scientific literature review in combination with data provided by our scientific and technical experts to write peer reviewed articles .
Qualifications and Experience
• Advanced degree in Life Science, preferably PhD.
• Outstanding English written communication skills
• Creative and not afraid of bringing own ideas to the table
• Responsible and keeps deadlines.
• Experience and knowledge in cell therapy, gene therapy and vaccines, preferably with additional knowledge in medical devices and diagnostics.
