Each essay should also have a proper reference list. 2. Research – does the essay show that the student has engaged with the relevant literature? This requires reading beyond the required readings assigned in the topic, and should include studies and reports published as books, journal articles and technical reports. Internet sources are acceptable but should not be the main sources used. Reference list should be alphabetically ordered and follow a consistent style. 3. Analysis – does the essay present a comprehensive account of the issues? Analysis should include criticism and commentary on perspectives presented. It should also answer the ‘so what?’ question – what is the importance of what is being discussed for policy and practice? Thourough referencing is needed (15 to 20)
