MS sql 2008 migration to 2017.

Hi There, Migration would need downtime of around 3-4 hours till DB is restored. Once done all the applications config files would need to be updated for new DB server. Once done I can update all the applications as well. We would do migration in late hours so that there is minimal impact and we need to notify users as well. I'm assuming that the DB would work normal since we are upgrading it and backward compatibility is always there. But in some cases queries, SP's, UDF needs to be re-written as per new DB version. For example SELECT * FROM <TableName> WHERE <columnname> =NULL will not work in 2017 but will work on 2008. I can provide upto 6 hours overlap (till 2.30 PM) for EST time zone and can migrate in EST night (my day time). How many applications are there which needs pointing? What schedulers/jobs are running on the SQL server? I believe in building long relationships, trust and good communication. I usually reply within minutes of ping from you. Is the target server is in cloud? Please share elaborated specifications of both server, an overview of the existing database. The data might be the most important thing but is not the problem here, Need to know how many functions, stored procedures, views etc are attached to it.
