Create an Animation

To give you a brief overview of the project, we're working on an art installation, that uses a light box with an animation running through an obscured glass screen.

The light box is 33m long x 700mm wide, and the idea is to have a video loop of a girl swimming within the box.

We will play the video loop through LED nodes beneath glass panels.

I've attached a concept image of what we are trying to create – although we are aware we will not achieve the level of detail shown in this picture.

I have also attached a very simple still image of a swimmer in red, and how it presents when using the Led nodes behind the glass. This image shows how much detail is lost, and gives an idea of what needs to be more contrasting in colour etc to read more clearly.

The female swimmer in meant to be leisurely swimming along the pool, the video is to be an eagle eye perspective of the swim.

The aim is for the swimmers size to change, to skew the viewers perspective. The swimmer will start off approx. 500mm long to scale, and end up approx 2500mm long with her arms running off the 600mm wide screen. At the end of the lap the swimmer is meant to dive down and come up out of the water similar to the image attached.

At this point the swimmer is to have long blonde hair and a black or red swimsuit.

The swimmer will also need a watery background similar to a rock pool, blue/green.

From a technical point of view, the video needs to be a cropped section that runs the span of the 33m as it plays like one big TV, I can confirm the pixels required at a later stage.

The swimmer needs to be rendered to a certain degree to look real, but we will lose a lot of detail through the glass, so this is not too crucial.

To start we'd just like to create a still image of the swimmer in the water to check how it presents through the LED lights and glass panels. We may then need to adjust the colours further to get the right contrast.
