A government organization ,North Central Provincial council has to design a documentary about the Perahara Festival held annually . he Sanghamitta Perahera of Anuradhapura paraded the streets for the 49th occasion. The Perahera was organized under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent of the Atamastana Ven. Pallegama Sirinivasa Thera. The procession is held annually to commemorate Arhat Sanghamitta and to mark the bringing of Sri Maha Bodhi sapling to Sri Lanka. Thousand Sil Mathas from around the country participated in the procession. The Perahera which started at the Vihara Maha Devi Aramaya came to an end at the Sri Maha Bodhi after parading the streets.
