Validating theoretical results using FEA. Ansys
£10-20 GBP
Paid on delivery
This task is about the mass optimization of some components in a steering system. (Steering column, Tie rod and Universal joints).
The theoretical calculations have been done and the Shear stress, angular deflection and mass values were obtained (Axial stress in case of tie rods). Few samples with different diameters and thicknesses were introduced and compared with the existing components.
The samples having lower masses and acceptable Shear stress and angular deflection levels were chosen.
The theoretical results will be shared in the form of an excel spreadsheet and the CAD files will be shared in Solidworks 2018 format.
This task will require :
- Meshing the steering CAD files
-Running simulations through ansys and obtain relevant parameters.
- Simple re-modelling and running simulations for the optimized samples (Changing inner and outer diameter values for tie rods and torsion tubes)
- Validating results obtained with the theoretical results and reporting on the error percentage.
- 650 - 900 word report presenting results obtained and comparing the optimized sample with the existing design (Including pictures from simulations, percentage% (↑/↓)..
Deadline is in 3 days.
