**_Quick and Easy copy/paste software; great for RAC beginners!_** This client-side software will build (but not send!) an HTML ("richtext") email in Gmail, based on a Craigslist post and a template application. Data will be copied from the template and the Craigslist post, and the Gmail "Compose Mail" screen will be populated in a predetermined manner. I'm not sure what the best way is to do this. This will run client-side, i.e., on my desktop, and so I'm guessing that JavaScript or a Firefox plug-in might yield good results, but I am open to suggestions; just let me know your thoughts. (If your bid doesn't mention which technology you intend to use, I will assume that you have no idea, and your bid will be deleted. I'm happy to answer questions first, but I have little tolerance for someone who insists that they can do it, but won't tell me *how*.) To anticipate a concern: This is not being used to generate spam. I am going through a list of Craigslist posts and applying to selected opportunities, each of whom is *soliciting* applications from people like me. e.g., These might be from people offering apartments, jobs, etc., and they *want* applicants for these. ## Deliverables I anticipate three Firefox tabs. It'd be ideal if I can have other, (completely unrelated), tabs active at the same time. It's also nice if the three tabs below can be in any order, mixed among the other, unrelated active tabs. **Application templates** I will have a series of HTML-based applications, probably as simple as a set of files in a given directory. (Right now, I just have some Gmail emails that I use to copy/paste, but I'm open to other ideas.) Example applications would be "apartment app", "job app", etc. **Craigslist set of posts** This is typically list resulting from a search, such as [login to view URL] . *I* will select which posts I wish to pursue; this software will *not* automatically step through any list! **Gmail Compose Mail screen** This is standard: [login to view URL] * * *Once I have selected a specific Craigslist post from the set, I want an email built (but not sent) as follows. I will be the one to modify the final email (by hand) and actually hit the Send button. The From: line is one of my email addresses; let me set that, myself. The To: line is taken from the Reply to: line in the Craigslist post, without the subject= portion, of course. The Subject: line will *always* start with "Your CL Post: " and then continues with the Craigslist post's title line, in its entirety. The (HTML/richtext) Body field will start with the entire selected application template. On a new line, the Craigslist post's URL will be shown. On the next line, the Craigslist post will be copied, starting with the title (which you will note is not at the top of the page), and continuing through and including the PostingID: line. Do not include the hr line after that, nor any of the "avoid scams" / "flag post" text prior to the title line. Retain all richtext, i.e., the title will still be large and bold, pictures will be retained, links will still be hyperlinked, etc. So, as an example, for the post [login to view URL] , you would populate the Compose Mail screen as follows: * * *From: (me) To: hous-757030457 at [login to view URL] Subject: Your CL Post: $100 Nice rooms (logan) (map) Body: This is copied from my template Some parts may be bold, underlined, hyperlinked, etc. [login to view URL] **$100 Nice rooms (logan) (map)** Reply to: hous-757030457 at [login to view URL] (hyperlink) Date: 2008-07-18, 12:11AM EDT Front room is $125 the back room is $100 shared area is kitchen and bathroom. If interest call Mr. Lackey. 215 480 xxxx Cats ok if fixed. (picture goes here) 14xx N 11th st at Loudon google map yahoo map (hyperlinks) * cats are OK - purrr * Location: logan * it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 757030457 * * * Again, do not actually send the email. Allow me to modify what is generated, and I will hit Send myself. I must be able to see all source code. To be perfectly frank, this will obviously have access to my Gmail account, and I need to make sure that my password remains secure. No, I'm not being paranoid; I've already had one RAC Coder attempt to capture a password. They are no longer working here. There may (or may not) be a delay as long as two business days after your bid is accepted for funds to be transferred. I do not anticipate this, but since it's happened before, (when I've changed payment methods), I wanted to warn you of this possibility. As per RAC rules, do *not* start work until you receive a notice from them indicating that funds are clear and you are free to start working. Do *not* try to impress me by completing the project before I have accepted your bid. While this may seem like common sense, I've seen it happen several times. You are very likely to not receive payment, so don't do this. * * *I'm pretty flexible and easy to work with. I tried to make sure that this job is as completely specified as humanly possible. If you have **any** questions, *please* ask them! I have found that it is far better to risk a bit of embarrassment than to spend time working on an assumption which later proves to be wrong. Do not worry that a question may seem silly; just *let me know* and I will be very happy to answer you! We've been a Buyer here since July '05, with a rating of 9.9 ("Excellent") out of 10, with over 75 ratings, and we've now paid on over 95 jobs. We've completed both security verifications, we have a non-action ratio under 5% ("very good"), and we've lost 0 out of 10 mediations / arbitrations. | | PGP is **not** required for this project. | | | An NDA is **not** required for this project. | We will retain full legal rights to the code and/or data upon completion.
