VBA macro to extract data from PDF to excel spreadsheet

Hi, I don't see any way in Excel macro to extract data from pdf file. If you like, I can develop a .net based application, which will extract data from the pdf file and output to excel format. I have very good expertise in Excel macros, MS access and VBA programming. I have gone through your description on converting the data from PDF to excel via programming, and you have lots of PDFs to be done so. I could complete this task and verify against samples that you send. Hope the PDFs that we are converting into will be of the same format, so that the columns match for all. If they all have matching columns then porting into another system and reporting could be done.... Will be constantly updating on the progress and would be available for discussion.

I can develop a solution using python. The PDF text data will be read from the file using PyPDF2 extension module and the data will be processed in python to sort it into relevant columns. Python has excellent text processing capabilities. The sorted data will be populated in an excel spreadsheet using XlsxWriter module. If you are using a mac or linux system, the programs would run straight out of the box. If you are running a windows system, I can compile the program in to a windows executable for hassle-free operation.

Hi, I have a lot of experience in parsing, I worked on a similar project where I parsed some scanned pages that were read with OCR software. The project was contracted via Freelancer.com so you can find the client's review on my profile page (spoiler alert: he was very pleased :)). This project is much easier than the one I mentioned. It doesn't matter if the number of pages is unknown, but it would mean a great deal if you could send me hand-copied data as an example, so I could know what results to expect after the parsing. This project sounds right in my area of expertise. There are several methods to achieve this goal. One is to use the JavaScript API engine that is a part of Adobe Acrobat. That allows the easiest interaction with fields in a PDF. There is also another way using OCR to visually interpret the contents of each page and then convert them to text. The part about putting the results into Excel is pretty trivial. Let me know if you have any further questions.
