There is many techniques used to save a logged in session, especially with Selenium web automation, you can just let the browser open, or get just the cookies if the website is not that secure or maybe get the access token. The short answer is, it depends on the website you gonna scrape. 2. The most common security measure that CDNs like Cloudfare provides is protection from DDoS attacks, this is a problem if you are trying to scrape a lot of data and you have to connect to the website many times. But this issue can be solved simply by using proxies. 3. I'm not really understanding what you mean, but in most cases a log in request is just a HTTP POST request and it can mimicked using a Web Client like axios for JS or Jsoup for Java. I didn't understand the Selenium part of your question. 4. No I don't have any experience, but I worked on many .gov and secured websites and the results were very good.
