Here is the Barn description: The Barn was originally built in 1750. It was built as a Queen Anne style barn. The beams are hand hewn. Half the Barn was burned down in the early 1800's and rebuilt in Dutch style with milled timbers. The wood is mostly Ash. In the 1870's Future US President Theodore Roosevelt spent summers on the property and learned boxing in the barn with Douglas Robinson Jr. as his sparring partner. The Barn was used in the 1980s as a private rehearsal and performance space for Russian Cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. The Barn has been kept in very good condition overall and is mostly used for equipment storage now.
