Custom filter for Blog (wordpress)

ByLine\'s behavior is not exactly same for article list and single article - in article list, role and company are clickable, while in single article, they are not clickable.\r\n\r\n\"Filter as\" field for author should be a dropdown to force the authror to choose from a preset list of options (e.g for role, the options will be ceo, foo, coo). Otherwise, user can input some random text which will not match the fixed options of Filter (fixed options for POSITION filter are ceo, foo, coo).\r\n\r\nAlso, Wordpress does\'t have Location field for authors by default. Do you already have Location field for authors in wordpress?. If yes, what is the type of this Location field - drop down, radio, text?\r\n\r\nI shall code a wordpress plugin because plugins are the right way to extend wordpress functionality. Themes should only be used for presentation.\r\n\r\nAbout Me:\r\nI am experienced wordpress programmer.
