Setting up a new EC2 instance can be daunting, but with a little planning it's actually quite straightforward. The first thing to do is decide which Amazon Machine Image (AMI) you want to use - this will determine the operating system and initial software configuration of your instance. Once you've chosen your AMI, you need to select an instance type, which will determine the CPU, memory, and storage capacity of your instance. Next, you need to configure your security settings, including choosing which key pair you want to use for SSH access. Finally, you can launch your instance and connect to it using the public IP address or hostname.
