شهد البحث في موضوع دورة حياة الخلية دراسات بحثية متلاحقة خلال فترتين منذ أن اكتشف العالم فيرشو عام 1855 تكون الخلايا الجديدة من خلايا سابقة . وبحلول نهاية القرن اكتشف علماء المجهر وعلماء الأجنة عملية انقسام الخلية على نحوٍ مفصل، غير أنهم لم يستطيعوا سوى رصد التحركات الثانوية . وما شهدته أواخر السبيعينات والثمانينيات من القرن العشرين من ازدهار علم الأحياء الجزيئية سمح لعلماء الخلية والكيمياء الحيوية وكذا علماء الوراثة اللحاق بالأمر وساعدهم على مزيد من فهم آلية دورة الخلية وتحركات جزيئاتها . وقد كشفت جهودهم العلمية أن العمليات الأساسية وآليات التحكم عامة تشمل جميع الأحياء حقيقية النواة ، كما أظهرت أن دورة الخلية تمر بمراحل نمو بالغة الدقة مما يؤدي إلى تكاثر الخلية . أفادت تلك الدراسات كثيرًا من البحث على عددٍ هائل من الكائنات الحية ، وكان لكلٍ منها أكبر الأثر على الصعيد البيولوجي والمنهجي . وبناءً على ذلك ، يبدو فهم المراحل الأساسية الآن جيدًا بل يرتقي في بعض الحالات إلى فهم مفصل ودقيق للغاية .

A) Termination by the Employer:

The employer can terminate this contract due to the closing of the institution or the project, downsizing, or loss prevention.
