Based in London, Green Era is a self-funded organisation, initiated by the family and friends of South Asian expatriates all striving to work “for the deprived communities and groups, existing in the transforming and developing South Asian nations.” Since then it’s aims and focal areas have grown to include local areas of Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham, and Newham where programmes designed to educate youth on STDs and teenage pregnancy are being funded as well as STD check up clinics. Green Era’s supporters have also changed and we are now supported by a growing army of anonymous, stressed London commuters and shoppers, visitors and students who despite problems of their own never fail to delve into their pockets and purses to help those worse off wherever they may be. For the present the managerial body of Green Era is firmly determined to remain small to ensure maximum efficiency of donations.
