As a journalist, it was my job to find stories that students from a broad age spectrum might enjoy and to write about them in an engaging, information-packed, and concise manner. My role as a copyeditor required me to read through all the other student journalists' articles before they were published, give criticism and feedback, and assist in the revising or rewriting process.

During high school I was the copyeditor for the school's yearbook for three years. This role required a good understanding of how copy in a publication should read and the ability to edit, rearrange, and revise nearly 50 pages' worth of copy in a short time frame. My school's yearbook represented a business just like any other business publication would do, and as such, I had to be sure that my work reflected the school in a positive way.
