One of the most important things for me is communication. I always have a ton on my plate, that's why I hire out side projects. I need someone that communicates clearly. gbourdin did just that. He asked for clarification on specifications where others would have assumed and gone ahead with the task regardless. He is very knowledgeable, which allowed me to discuss my needs and get his feedback and input. I require coders be able to work in my workflow (Trello, AWS, Google Drive, etc) and he was adept in all of those areas. Lastly, he was quick. He had a prototype up and working within 24 hrs. What I paid is not indicative of gbourdin's work. It was a result of my limited budget. I paid much less than he was worth vs his work acumen and results. I run a charity (that's all I do, no other job). Pay myself $1 a year and live a frugal life. Fortunately, I was rewarded by finding a helpful and non-materialistic coder. We are already discussing working together in the future.
