**<u>Skill Highlights</u>**
**PHP/MySQL web coding**
I designed and built a web-based tutorial generator – a site that takes other sites, modifies them, and builds a user-editable tutorial structure. The need to cope with any existing html/javascript code, some of it buggy, made this very complex, and required a very thorough understanding of PHP, HTML and javascript. Working with graphic designers in the US, I built the Rubber Chicken Cards and DoozyCards sites. Collaborating via IM and phone, we found that the distance worked to our advantage, as the US team would test during their day, and I would implement new features during mine.

**Graphic Design**
I built the Mabarrack Furniture site to very exact visual requirements. There is also a very complex back end, written with PHP/MySQL; the product catalogue is maintained without any involvement from me. The site can output single products or entire ranges as PDF files.

**XML/XSLT coding**
The National History Challenge site has an enormous amount of cross-referenced information that must be kept consistent and transformed into both HTML and PDF. I built a schema, an XML representation of the data, and a set of XSL stylesheets to implement this project. The PDF output is via XSL:FO, handled by Apache FOP.

**Linux System Administration**
I maintain several Linux-based web, mail and backup servers, as well as hosting sites for my web design clients. I have run Linux exclusively on my workstation since 2001. I am responsible for a medium-sized mixed-OS network at Teachers On Net.
