Research and Development on advanced AMR and AMI technologies. Projects: 1. Upgrading a 3phase whole current Energy meter to support remote collection and configuration of metering data whilst keeping the integrity of the metering IC intact. Radio Modules used: Hope-RF UART/SPI based high powered(13dBm) RF modules. Controllers : ST(STM8L) controllers. Development Software: IAR-Embedded Workbench, HopeRF Development Kit. 2. Modification of a Single Phase/Three Phase Calibration Bench to support RTC, Meter Serial Number and Operating Mode configuration. Project Tasks: 1. Design of an AVR(Atmega8) based PCB to establish communication between a MAX 485 bus on the test bench and a PC. 2. Writing the controller firmware. 3. Developing a simple C# .NET app to allow hassle free configuration of base parameters.
