Jerry Kemp
Biographical Summary
Jerry Kemp, author of four eBooks, is a Financial Consultant currently licensed as a life/health insurance agent with over 20 years experience as a stockbroker. Since 1973, Mr. Kemp has worked in various operational departments of companies in many industries, from the mailroom to the executive suite, thus gaining a broad base of general business knowledge. He has been a search consultant for companies in the high technology (eCommerce, IT and semiconductor), accounting and financial industries.
After growing up on a farm in Indiana and later becoming a policeman, Mr. Kemp’s previous experience includes working as Vice President Human Resources for a publicly traded semiconductor company headquartered in Austin (Texas). In his capacity as Vice President Human Resources, Mr. Kemp applied a variety of knowledge gained during more than 25 years in business. Though licenses were not required for Mr. Kemp’s position as a search consultant, many years of business experience and complex responsibilities in the high technology and financial industries greatly enhanced his success as a recruiter and trainer.
Mr. Kemp was the recipient of the 1972 Indiana Governor’s Award for Leadership (“Distinguished Hoosier”), graduated from Santa Monica College, and served four years as a Chinese Linguist in the United States Air Force (Top Secret Special Intelligence Clearance). To become a stockbroker, Mr. Kemp passed the rigorous required examinations for the Series 7 and the Series 63 licenses registered with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). To become an insurance agent, Mr. Kemp passed the demanding required examination for a General Lines license registered with the Texas Department of Insurance.
When residing in the Los Angeles area, Mr. Kemp was an active volunteer at the San Fernando Valley Juvenile Court Correctional Facility (California) teaching children between the ages of eight and eighteen general principles of business and strategic thinking as alternatives to illegal economic activity and unproductive social behavior. Mr. Kemp was nominated for the 1993 Outstanding National School Volunteer community service award of the National Association of Partners in Education, Inc. (NAPE) sponsored by Kraft General Foods and Walt Disney World. Mr. Kemp was also nominated for the Los Angeles County 1993 Volunteer of the Year community service award sponsored by the Los Angeles County Office of Education, Juvenile Court and Community Schools.
Mr. Kemp has two children, lives in a suburb of Austin, Texas and is past President of his homeowners association. His interests include golf and chess.
